Privacy Policy

Last updated: February 1, 2026

Placr ("we", "our", "us") is committed to protecting the privacy of our users, their candidates, and their clients. This policy explains how we collect, use, store, and share personal information when you use the Placr platform and website.

1. Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly to us, including your name, email address, company name, and job title when you create an account or request a demo. When you use our platform, we collect usage data such as pages visited, features used, and interaction patterns to improve the service. We also collect technical data including IP addresses, browser type, device information, and cookies for security and analytics purposes.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to provide, maintain, and improve our services. This includes processing candidate data for recruitment purposes, generating AI-powered match scores and recommendations, sending transactional communications such as magic link emails and status updates, and analyzing usage patterns to enhance platform performance. We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

3. Data Storage and Security

All data is encrypted at rest using AES-256 encryption and in transit using TLS 1.3. We store data on Google Cloud Platform infrastructure with servers located in your chosen data residency region. We maintain SOC 2 Type II compliance and conduct regular third-party security audits. Access to production data is restricted to authorized personnel and logged for audit purposes.

4. Data Sharing

We share data only as necessary to provide our services. This includes sharing candidate information with the specific recruiters and clients involved in a hiring process, using trusted sub-processors for infrastructure, email delivery, and analytics, and responding to valid legal requests from law enforcement when required by applicable law. All sub-processors are bound by data processing agreements.

5. Your Rights (GDPR)

If you are located in the European Economic Area, you have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data. You may also object to or restrict certain processing activities. To exercise any of these rights, contact our Data Protection Officer at privacy@useplacr.com. We will respond to all requests within 30 days.

6. Candidate Data

Candidate personal data submitted through our platform is processed on behalf of the recruitment agency (the data controller). Candidates may request access to, correction of, or deletion of their data by contacting the agency that holds their information or by using the self-service options in the Candidate Portal. Candidate data is automatically purged after the retention period configured by each agency, with a maximum of 36 months.

7. Cookies

We use essential cookies for authentication and security, and optional analytics cookies to understand how our marketing site is used. You can manage cookie preferences through your browser settings. Our platform does not use third-party advertising cookies or tracking pixels.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes via email at least 30 days before the changes take effect. The current version of this policy is always available at this URL.

9. Contact

For questions about this privacy policy or our data practices, contact our Data Protection Officer at privacy@useplacr.com. Our registered office address is available on our website. For GDPR-related inquiries, you may also lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
